The MG42 was the best machine gun in World War II. The MG42 is a 7.9mm universal machine gun. The MG42 has one of the highest rate of fire for a single barreled machine gun. It shot 25 rounds per second or 1200 to 1500 rounds per minute. It was developed by Nazi Germany. Many of them were used in important battles such as, D-Day(Normandy), Battle of Kursk, Stalingrad, Battle of Bulge, and Leningrad.
